Space Lab AS is a Norwegian space company established to develop, test, and operate reusable launch systems and advanced space propulsion technologies.
The company originates from UiS Aerospace, a student-founded initiative that over five years evolved into one of Norway’s most active hands-on rocket development environments. Space Lab represents the natural transition from a non-profit, educational framework to a commercial entity capable of delivering professional space technology and services.
Our mission is to enable sustainable and competitive access to space from Norway, while building national competence in launch systems, propulsion, and aerospace systems engineering.
Space related projects we have worked on:
• Phoenix launch vehicle program – development of a reusable sounding rocket platform
• Berserkr engine series – liquid rocket engines, including 3D-printed Inconel combustion chambers
• Phoenix 1 – upcoming research rocket launch with sea recovery
• Advanced propulsion R&D – pressure-fed and pump-fed liquid propulsion systems
• Launch operations & systems engineering – procedures, safety, recovery, and mission control
• Technology demonstrations in collaboration with academic and industrial partners

Our long-term ambition is to provide independent access to space from Norway, supporting Earth observation, research missions, and emerging space infrastructure, while maintaining a strong emphasis on sustainability and cost efficiency. We actively collaborate with universities, research institutions, industry partners, and international space organizations. Space Lab aims to be a connector between academia, industry, and national space ambitions, contributing to Norway’s growing space ecosystem.
